New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Davey Richards was injured in an auto accident in the US. Richards was scheduled to be in Japan this week for a pay-per-view defending the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championship with Rocky Romero against Tiger Mask IV and Jushin "Thunder" Liger. The belts will be declared vacant.
At present, Davey is expected to recover in time for his May 12 match with Kevin Steen for Ring of Honor.

"Sean" can relate since he was hit back in 1990. While it suxxs for rock & davey to end reign this way it does open door for extra impact for new team to win in some sort of tournament/multi-team situation. Rohfans have to expect quality of steenmatch to reduce at least 20-40%.

Davey joined us at Two Spot Monkeys for an interview today and we asked him about the accident. He said he had a little whiplash, but was ok. Sounds like the reason he missed the show was more that he had to miss his flight due to the accident, not that he was majorly injured in anyway. He said he would miss no ring time at all.
I don't expect the quality to drop 2%, much less 20-40%.
