As announced in the newsletter today, the Open The United Gate Championships are being vacated again. This is due to Masato Yoshino not returning to DGUSA through the remainder of the year. I suspect he's getting some additional bookings in Japan or is needed to remain in Japan for some reason.
New champions will be crowned at the July 29 show, though how this will be determined has yet to be announced.

I'm not too surprised, I expected Yoshino's Freedom Gate match to be his last in DGUSA for a while, and putting a tag strap on him was a last minute decision. I guess they should have put those belts on Ricochet and Swann.
It would have been nice for them to drop the belts to Mad Blankey in Japan.

I would've rather the title change hands in Japan than have it become vacant again. Since this is the second vacancy this year I would hope there's something a little more official that Ricochet choosing the next champ. Another round robin tournament would be pretty cool.

I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed in how the United Gate titles have been handled since PAC and Yoshino dropped them. I'm not saying that it's totally buried the titles, but I'm hoping that they can take this as an opportunity to really build a tag team division in DGUSA. This seems like a good opportunity for The Scene to get a nice little run though.

Giving the Scene the belts is not a way to build the tag division. Much rather give it to DUF than them.
Officially announced that both CIMA & Ricochet get to choose their partners for the next tag championship match. Pretty lame. Next injury Pac is going to choose the champion than if he gets hurt Yoshino can choose the champs for over see. I would've thought they'd start over rather with a tournament format.

I do think CIMA and AR Fox will make a pretty exciting team. Swann/Richochet could be really good as a team as well.

I had a chance to see Ricochet and Swann team up against Shisa and DK on an Infinity, and I have to say, if that's them starting as a team, I like the chance they have in developing. I hope Fox and CIMA have as good chemistry as those two do.

Right after the whole Ronin unit did. He was intended to stay through much of the summer, but had to return home early for a family emergency.
