Also my reaction to him getting hired by the WWE.
Never got the hype with Hero. Never blew me away when I saw him wrestle. Granted, we're talking since 2008 here, but to me he's just another guy who could give you decent-good matches.

You are missing the obvious. Hero's FCW gimmick lies in his initials, K.O..
Looks like somebody is getting knocked out in FCW.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hero came up with this name himself however. Kassius (After Cassius Clay) Ohno (A popular surname in Japan, for his time spent wrestling in Japan) and the KO initials (That young Knock Out Kid) Personally I think it's a well put together name. However if you have a look at the pictures FCW have up of him, I dont think he's getting called up any time soon until he gets into WWE shape.

Well, under Triple H's new mandate, it probably will be a while before any one new gets called up any way.
Still, I think the name is fine. The usage of the name with the initals is probably the major point to it, as the folks above have pointed out. Can't wait to see some matches posted on YouTube.

Just curious, what is "Triple H's new mandate"? I hadn't heard anything about one.

It's the primary reason Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose aren't with the main crew yet. Everyone keeps saying that they should be, but since creative can't come up with jack in making creditable debuts for them they're still waiting in FCW.
It's actually not a bad idea given how screwed up the debut for some of guys prior to this mandate went (i.e. the vast majority of folks that went through NXT).

Yeah, while I want to see Rollins and Ambrose on the main roster (and while we are at it, there is another guy or two in FCW that I'd love to see brought up, i.e. Cesaro, Leakee, Steamboat), I want to see them brought up with a plan, not just randomly thrown on Smackdown with no direction at all, and no hope of getting over.

I wish WWE would let all their developmental talent come up with their own names.

As soon as I saw the name I picked up on the initials and the Kassius being a reference to muhammed ali.

As soon as I saw the name I picked up on the initials and the Kassius being a reference to muhammed ali. After some light thinking of it for a few minutes, I did get past my initial reaction of "this is f-ing retarded", when I at least came up with the "KO" connection, but I still think it is a bad name from a marketing standpoint. Of course, WWE could prove me wrong and make sure that everyone knows what's going on, but if they are relying on people to work it out for themselves, I think people will say a bizarre name, act negatively to it and ultimately lead to nowhere. I at least got the Kassius reference on the first bound (or at least I suspected it may be a possible reference...Ohno, meanwhile, I thought they were going off on some basketball tangent which confused the hell out of me), but if you go to most people under 30, which I'd have to imagine is a massive proportion of their demographic, and how many would know Ali's birth name was Cassius Clay? Granted, vignettes may clear this all up, but to anyone who doesn't catch onto these things, I don't think I'd go so far as to call them idiots because of it. It's kind of clever, but it's going to take some strong, clever booking to make it work. Especially to the casual fans who don't watch every second of the programming, or the Indie followers (or at least people who know who Hero is) who know what Hero is capable of (all million elbow shots of it)
