I was working so I only caught the "main events" I wasn't that thrilled with what I saw.
Sami getting busted open the hard way from that sick headbutt was pretty much the highlight.

The first Finlay vs. Sami match in Evolve was better, but this one was still good. Low Ki and Generico was second last. They followed a load of guys who were typical indy blahness and so from the opening bell looked miles better then everyone else. Just complete day and night.
Evolve can be really boring though. Guys just appear in the ring like a wwe jobber. Even El Generico came out to the slowest most boring music and it was pretty brutal. Your left thinking wheres the fun?
Main card had the likes of Jake Manning, MK McKinnan, Adam Page, Drew Gulak, Josh Alexander etc. I had no idea who any of them were, and none were really that impressive. Anyway kind of disappointing show. Dragon Gate USA is a lot better.

Unfortunately 4 or 5 of the advertised matches didn't occur because A.R. Fox, Bobby Fish, Scott Reed, and Cheech didn't make the show. So I guess all those other guys were just talent filling in. At least the two main events went on as planned.

Anyway kind of disappointing show. Dragon Gate USA is a lot better. I reckon the majority of these guys are wrestlers who also work for HighSpots (primary sponser of the WrestleReunion conventions). Certainly Manning, who is better known as "The Manscout" and even does a lot of work for Colt Cabana and Marty DeRosa's stuff (particularly $5 Wrestling). As I noted previously elsewhere, Caleb Konley is also a wrestler employed by HighSpots.

Has Ki had a singles match in PWG/DGUSA/Evolve in 2011/2012 that delivered on expectations?

Has Ki had a singles match in PWG/DGUSA/Evolve in 2011/2012 that delivered on expectations? One can argue his KRRII match with Davey would be one, but aside from the very few really positive feedback I've heard of last night's might, that's about it.

Whatever your individual expectations are is one thing, but the guy is very talented. I was there live yesterday and thought he was maybe the single best wrestler on the show. At least one of the top 3.

I for one am happy to see Gulak on an Evolve show, as he really fits right in.

Undercard was what it was. Nothing memorable, nothing horrible. I need to rewatch the big 3 matches tomorrow to have a better thought on those.

Sami-Finlay II was (****1/4), a tad under the first bout, but this one had a terrific finish. I hope they clash again later in 2012 under the DGUSA/EVOLVE banner, possibly in a Submission Match or Respect Match.
Ki-Generico was (***3/4 to ****). Expectations may have been too high because of their names and where they were placed on the card. It would have been bad news to have them outshine the top main event.
Super Smash Bros., the 3-Way Dance and resolution over the EVOLVE Wins Lead and what I would consider a strong breakout from Alex Reynolds were the other highlights of this show.

For a first time Evolve viewer, this was a disappointment. Nothing at all on the show that would make me want to go back and watch a second time.
I understand there were several talent problems, but the show presented was not that good. Especially when you toss in an intermission that lasted at least 35 minutes before I quit counting. Hate to say it, but that was not money well spent.
I'll definitely give DGUSA a shot on iPPV come July, but cannot see myself ordering the two Evolve events in May.

All three DGUSA shows have been strong this year, the next one shouldn't disappoint. Most people weren't crazy about Evolve 11, myself included.

So I think of that show as an exception and won't hold it against them.

Was 10 good? That sounded like a bit of a disaster, with Gargano's injury and such.
