We should get updates soon on EVOLVE 12 & 13 and I cannot wait to see what is next in store.
Before that, however, I always like to do this type of post in the aftermath of the most recent EVOLVE event. Perhaps these matches occur soon, perhaps down the road or maybe not at all. I would still like to see them!
Open The Freedom Gate Title Match
Johnny Gargano (C) vs. Chuck Taylor (EVOLVE Wins Leader, 7-3)
~These two have a storied history in DG USA/EVOLVE and if you saw the interaction from E11, you know that Taylor was relentless against Gargano. This would be a re-match of EVOLVE 9, where Taylor got the win to create the tie atop the Leader Board that would last almost 10 months. Taylor is 2-0 now over Gargano. Could he make it 3-0 and capture the top singles title?
Tag Wins Lead On the Line
Super Smash Bros. (2-2) vs. The Scene (2-0)
~The bout that border control prevented over the weekend would see the winning team come out tied with CHIKARA Sekigun for the overall lead in Tag Wins and of course, set up a match to break that tie and crown an overall wins leader.
Battle for the 4th Win
Sami Callihan (3-4) vs. Silas Young (3-1)
~Sami's been losing (3 straight in EVOLVE) and perhaps inching closer to a darker, scarier place. Silas hasn't been in an EVOLVE ring since July '11, but could continue his climb up the ladder with a big win.
Style Battle Re-Match
Jon Davis (1-1) vs. AR Fox (2-1)
~This semi-final re-match from Style Battle 2011 would give Davis the opportunity to avenge his loss and get to 2 wins like the man he wants (Finlay) and Fox the chance to prove he is still a top player in EVOLVE, despite his first loss to Jigsaw in January and the unfortunate travel mishaps that caused him to miss EVOLVE 11.
Battle for Win #1
Rich Swann (0-2) vs. Samuray Del Sol (0-1)
~This is one where you could throw the records out the window because their resumes speak loudly each. In EVOLVE, it is WINS that get you more opportunity. Swann is part of World-1 International and fresh off the dissolving of Ronin. Del Sol debuted in DG USA with a HUGE win over Masato Yoshino and is damned impressive in the ring, but has yet to see that translate into more - this could be his chance.
