Wasn't sure how this would affect DGUSA, so I'm posting it here.
Prior to the Extreme Reunion show on Saturday, Sabu was rushed to the hospital. He did not show up to the fan convention that afternoon and organizers were worried. Police noted that he was in an intoxicated state when found. The story they're saying for now is that Sabu had an allergic reaction to medication he was taking.
Sabu was scheduled to face Shane Douglas, who put together Extreme Reunion, in the main event. His going to the hospital was not the only incident that happened as Justin Credible was kicked out after being found passed out backstage just as the show was getting underway.
I understand that the show had a sold-out 2,400 in attendance, but they immediately turned given how bad everything was turning out (although they enjoyed Jerry Lynn vs. Devon Storm enough to chant "Thank you Jerry" and "Thank you Crowbar"). When Douglas came out for his match, reschedule to face Too Cold Scorpio, fans were chanting "Refund" and "Go back to Target" at him. They announced a return in June, but the fans booed it mercilessly.
