So I wanted to get everyone's take on the more out there wrestling promotions on the indy circuit. Chikara...Interspecies Wrestling...Lucha Va Voom...Bizarro Live...CLASH Wrestling. There seems to be a growing number of Indy groups embracing the stuff we hated in the Fed and WCW back in the day and some how making it work IMO. What are you guy's thoughts on wrestling taking the strange and the outlandish an infusing it into their product? Is it a good alternative to the strong style japanese inspired INDY stuff that ROH has helped create over the years and that DGUSA and EVOLVE continue today? for reference: www.chikarapro.comwww.interspecieswrestling.comwww.clashwrestling.comwww.bizarrolive.comwww.luchavavoom.com

Totally Tool Wrestling is by far the most fun you can have watching wrestling.
Also I look forward to whenever the first NWA:The Moon show is scheduled.

I'll have to check them out...the only ones I've gotten to see live are Bizarro Live and chikara and those were fun.
I've seen DVDs of the others. Do Totally Tool Wrestling and NWA: The Moon have DVDs? Where are they located?

TTW have three dvds, which you can get from SMV. They ran the shows in the Chicago area, I believe.
NWA: The Moon are located at a specific crater on the moon.

Here are a couple of free matches from our good friends at InterSpecies Wrestling:
El Hijo Del Bamboo vs. Izzie Deadyet
Twiggy vs. Eddie Kingston As well as a great exchange between ISW Champion, Giant Tiger, and then NWA Champion, Colt Cabana
They're well worth checking out if you get the chance.

I do like CHIKARA in the sense that, not only do they bring in a lot of great guest talent, but that they have fun with their comic book-y concept, and is one of the few places in the world that is practically gender neutral. It's good to see that you don't have to make the idea that Sara Del Rey can outwrestle her male counterparts and somehow force that into some post-modern feminist statement. So she can beat up Claudio Castagnoli. Cool. It doesn't mean she needs to be Gloria Steinham on steroids, and CHIKARA gets that.
As for everything else listed, I'd need a lot more time looking these over to give any real impressions. The quick glace I've given the links thus far, though, definitely says they'd be good fodder for an internet reviewer.

Hey! Glad to see Bizarro Live mentioned in there with Chikara and Lucha Va Voom. We work pretty closely with the crew over at Bizarro, and let me tell you, they are getting better and better (as well as weirder) with every show. They've only been at this about a year, but their shows keep getting better written and their crowds keep getting bigger.
I'm sure that there are some out there that wish all of the "crazy" federations would go away, but I for one love the comedy aspect of it, and the comic book feel that you get from watching some of the shows. I mean when you get down to it, all wrestling is about guys in spandex going out and fighting each other in an epic "good vs. evil" battle...which sounds to me like pretty much every comic book I ever read as a kid...or you know, last week.
Anyway, I don't think they have any of the really crazy stuff uploaded yet, but here's a couple of matches that they have up on YouTube...
Honey Smaxxx & Canadian Idol vs. Spaghetti Connection
L.O.S.E.R. vs. Spaghetti Connection (Trio's Match)
And of course, the origin of Quesazilla

Just watched that origin video so far... don't think it's for me, but I will give the matches a chance. I don't mind goofy when you can back it up in the ring, but if you can't work so you try to hide that behind a goofy gimmick then I have no desire to watch you. Also, that origin video was from September and it only had 29 views?!

I don't mind goofy when you can back it up in the ring... Most of them can back it up in the ring, that's the thing. And like I said, these were the only matches I could find, they have had some amazing matches on the past few shows. Also, that origin video was from September and it only had 29 views? It was actually posted twice, I grabbed the one from Bizarro's page. The original was posted by Faberville a couple months prior and had more hits.

Still... 29? Doesn't bode well for your fanbase. I have random podcasts I made with more than that in a couple weeks and I'm a nobody. I added these matches to a playlist though so I can watch them back to back on my Xbox later.
