GoFightLive is on there so it only makes sense for WWNLive to do the same if they want to compete. I have a Roku that gets very little use since I just watch everything on my Xbox 360 or PS3 so this will give me a reason to use it more.

Absolutely want this to happen, and it would be great if it could happen by Mania weekend. I don't know the financials of it, but if it isn't a financial drain on them, I think it would be a no brainer. I am MUCH more likely to buy an iPPV if I can watch it on my TV rather than my computer, and since the PS3 browser absolutely sucks and can't play the videos from WWNLive or GoFightLive either, the Roku box is perfect for it.
I've asked Gabe a few times about it on Facebook and other places and he has said they are working on it.

I have my PC hooked up to my TV so I can still do it... it just isn't as "easy" to do. BTW, the PS3 browser was recently updated but I have yet to try GFL or WWN... I did try some other streaming sites and they worked well. Sadly, YouTube is still locked at 360p so I use my PC or Xbox 360 for that.

I haven't had cable in almost 3 years so I'm used to watching everything online.

I have a buddy of mine who is a die-hard sports entertainment lifer. For years, he has refused to watch anything other than WWE. I finally convinced him to get together much like when we were kids for a full wrestling weekend next week.
Upon being given all of the options coming up, he cut me off and said "Absolutely ROH." Bear in mind he has no introduction of any kind to ANY independent wrestling out there, no sense of the history of each company, and no preferences as to style or presentation..
Truth is, though I made an effort to convince him otherwise, I had to be honest with myself and agree. It's one thing if you are already a fan and watching it alone on your computer screen. It's another thing entirely to have a room full of potential fans huddle around a computer screen, and, right or wrong, it affects their perception of the organization.
I mean, look, TV screen or not, any iPPV isn't going to look like an HD presentation. We're not there yet, and frankly, we may never be, nor may it be cost effective to do so even if we ever do get to that point.
I happen to fully believe that WWN has immeasurably better production value with far fewer production gaffes, however, unfortunately, the reality is that even if you're watching an iPPV in a box that only utilizes half of your TV screen, the perception is still that an event on the "big screen" in the living room is a bigger event with more importance.

I have people over for each iPPV and we watch on my TV, no one complains... WWE does PPV in HD, but of course they have a LOT more money behind them so maybe I misunderstood your "any iPPV isn't going to be HD" statement.

So you have your computer hooked up to your TV by means of either an HDMI cable or a VGA connection with separate audio. That's awesome, and it works great, but I think the percentage of folks who are going to make that effort in order to watch the PPV is small. I'm speaking more about the average home that just wants the event on their TV though some type of a settop without the added rigamarole. The fact that ROH is on Roku and DGUSA is not gives an unnecessary leg up to ROH, despite the fact that DGUSA's production value, IMHO, is much higher. The comment on the PPV in HD issue was completely off base. All I meant was that no one in their right mind expects an HD quality feed from an iPPV, regardless of how one elects to view it.

I realize that I'm not in the majority, but a growing number of people are in fact doing this especially with the rise of laptops with HDMI out. HDMI does sound too so it is quite simple to just hook your laptop up to your TV and watch. Also, PS3 has a built in web browser that works for streaming video (although it's bad, it's still there). I think that ROH on Roku is a leg up though and would definitely make things nicer. TNA is also on Roku though and obviously that's not making buy rates more than WWE

The promo videos on the site seem to work, but I can't seem to make it find the videos.

I've used YouTube and Justin.TV without issue. The PS3 browser doesn't work with either WWNLive or GFL as far as I know, I tried last week or so and couldn't make either work. Youtube.com/WrestlingUnplugged Not sure why everyone locked onto the HD issue... The focus should be the fact that ROH, though the GFL channel on Roku, makes it infinitely easier for the average user to watch iPPV on their TV, and that in order to properly compete, DGUSA needs to offer the same thing because of the advantages of watching on the living room TV as opposed to the computer monitor. The quality of the feed is tangential, as is the discussion of production values.
