After a long wait, the Dragon Gate/Dramatic Dream Team co-promotion has returned.
Be prepared for some wonderful silliness that only a DG/DDT cross-promotion could come up with.
6/5/2012 Osaka, Higashinari Citizens Center - DDG Returns 0. Special Dark Match: Hollywood Stalker Ichikawa vs. Michael Nakazawa *Special Referee Gorgeous Matsuno 1. Sanshiro Takagi{W}, Takao Souma (10:04 Sit Down Himawari Bomb) Masaaki Mochizuki, Kotoka{L} 2. Masa Takanashi{W}, Ken Ohka (9:31 Takatonic) Super Shisa, Shisa BOY{L} 3. Danshoku Rumble: Don Fujii, Rich Swann, Ryo "Jimmy" Saito, Danshoku Dieno, Antonio Honda, Gorgeous Matsuno -Fujii (14:47 Small Package Hold) Dieno 4. YAMATO{W}, Shingo Takagi (15:23 Gallaria) Keisuke Ishii{L}, Kenny Omega 5. BxB Hulk (16:52 First Flash) Kota Ibushi 6. Masaaki Mochizuki, HARASHIMA, KUDO, Shigehiro Irie (3:00 DQ) Kzy, Naoki Tanisaki, Mondai Ryu, Cyber Kong 6b. Masaaki Mochizuki, Sanshiro Takagi, HARASHIMA{W}, KUDO, Shigehiro Irie (12:09 Soumatou) Akira Tozawa, Kzy{L}, Naoki Tanisaki, Mondai Ryu, Cyber Kong
The dark match never properly concluded. They ended battling all over the arena and the Osaka streets since before the show even started.
The rules for the Danshoku Rumble were the usual Dieno nonsense. The match would go until Dieno was defeated. Anyone who he managed to give his Deep Kiss to would have to come out as being gay, in addition to putting on Danshoku style tights. In the end, his victims were Swann, Matsuno, Honda, & Saito. Fujii was left to fight alone, but managed to keep his supreme manhood intact. Even so, he put on the Danshoku tights, then delivered a deep kiss & Danshoku Driver to Kotoka.
Tozawa decided to bail on the main event, and put Tanisaki & Mondai Ryu in his spot. Mocchy joined up with the DDT side to even the numbers. After the DQ, Tozawa suddenly felt like fighting. Sanshiro Takagi joined in, making it into a 10 man tag.

MAD BLANKEY vs. -akatsuki- 5v4 Handicap Takagi Style Elimination Match: YAMATO, Shingo Takagi, Chihiro Tominaga, Super Shenlong III (5-3) Akira Tozawa, BxB Hulk, Kzy, Naoki Tanisaki, Mondai Ryu Order of Entry: Tanisaki & YAMATO, Tozawa, Tominaga, Hulk, Shenlong, Kzy & Mondai Ryu, Takagi -Kzy (14:54 Skayde School Boy) YAMATO -Shenlong (16:40 School Boy) Hulk -Tanisaki (17:42 Outsiders Edge) Shenlong -Takagi (18:38 Over the Top Rope) Tanisaki -Takagi (19:32 MADE IN JAPAN) Kzy -Mondai Ryu (20:34 Salt Attack) Takagi -Tominaga (22:42 Over the Top Rope) Tozawa -Tominaga (23:59 Flying Cross Armbreaker) Mondai Ryu 6. Open the Triangle Gate: Naruki Doi, PAC{W}, Masato Yoshino (15:52 360 Shooting Star Press) K-ness, Kenichiro Arai{L}, Super Shisa *W1i succeed in their 1st Defense
-akatsuki- & MAD BLANKEY faced off in the usual arm wrestling contest to decide the man advantage for the elimination match. It was Takagi vs. Kong. Kong continued his slump, losing for the first time ever.
Tanisaki challenged Takagi next. If Takagi won, the match would be named to the Takagi Style Elimination Match. Tanisaki won. But, he decided that he would take the man advantage instead, Takagi could have the match name, since Kong no longer deserves it. Then he beat YAMATO, which allowed him to make the match into a 5 vs. 4 handicap match, with Mondai Ryu added. Kong was taken out of the match, in favor of Tanisaki. Kong would take his place vs. Kagetora.
Rich Swann was still wearing his danshoku tights from the DDG show....
Kagetora lamented Kong and his pitiful state. He invited him out drinking to talk over his sorrow.
Kotoka arrived in a Windows t-shirt, and asked if he could join. He didn't get an answer. When Team Veteran came out, he decided to ask them. They denied him, so he reverted his allegiance to Windows. They didn't really confirm or deny him membership, but he seconded them later and continued to wear the shirt.
There was a big argument between the Jimmys, W1i, -akatsuki-, & Team Veteran after the main. Horiguchi took particular issue with Tominaga and his receding hairline. He called him out for HAGE gimmick infringement. A four way 6 man tag was decided for Korakuen next month.
MB came out here. Mochizuki immediately dismissed them, saying aside from Tozawa & Hulk they were pretty useless. He mocked Kong, and asked him if he wanted to learn pro wrestling from scratch again. Mondai Ryu began to talk but Team Veteran ignored him and left.
Kagetora confronted Tanisaki about arbitrarily changing their scheduled match today. They re-scheduled it for next month. Mondai Ryu began to talk but the Jimmys ignored him and left.
Kimata finally got the attention of CIMA, who was up in the balcony doing commentary. He questioned his favoritism towards Horiguchi in winning the #1 contendership. He asked CIMA if he was scared. CIMA said yes, he was scared. Scared of Kimata being anywhere near the Dream Gate. Further arguing lead to them making a Mask vs. Passport match for next month. Kimata wasn't pleased with the idea, but accepted if it was a handicap match. His partner wasn't identified, but it may be Tozawa. CIMA will have to surrender his passport if he loses. This wouldn't be the first time. He lost it to TAKA Michinoku back in 2005, and had quite an ordeal getting it back.
A Windows vs. MB tag was also set for next month, rounding out the match making portion of the show.
W1i were left to close the show out, as has become customary. As usual things got out of hand. Swann continued his coming out party, and gave deep kisses to the other members.

How next month's Korakuen Hall looks:

Kid seemed a bit flustered by Shisa winning, continuing the Shisa Boom streak from the pin on CIMA in Korakuen. He said he would be in peak condition by 6/16, so Shisa better be prepared. Shisa said he was already in peak form, and the Yoshitonic would bring him the title next week.
Tanisaki celebrated his hometown win, and promised to do the same in the Twin Gate match tomorrow. The Jimmys came out for a war of words. MB left the Jimmys to close out things.

I spent a month dodging all Dragon Gate news as I wanted to watch King Of Gate spoiler free. Finally I have seen it all! Did anyone else watch it? Shingo vs YAMATO was my favourite match of the tournament.
Akiyama, I had no idea there was a PPV in March, what was the card? I'm thinking it might be the show that had the three team Triangle Gate match. It's cool that they're putting it out on DVD, I think they should do that for all of the PPVs.

2nd KING of CHOP Tournament -A Block 2nd Round- Shingo Takagi (Decision) BxB Hulk Naoki Tanisaki (Decision) Masaaki Mochizuki -B Block Second Round- Jimmy Susumu (Decision) Don Fujii Jimmy Kagetora (Decision) Rich Swann -Semifinals- Naoki Tanisaki (Decision) Shingo Takagi Jimmy Kagetora (Decision) Jimmy Susumu -Finals- Jimmy Kagetora (Decision) Naoki Tanisaki
MAD BLANKEY came out after the opener. Tozawa complained about how boring the old timers match was, and ran down Hokkaido. He turned his attention to CHAMPION GATE. He had a message from Mondai Ryu, who was safely resting back in Kobe. Since there is no Triangle Gate contender yet, Tozawa, Mondai Ryu, & Cyber Kong were challenging. Yoshino replied that MB really had the worst claim to the challenge after Korakuen. He further said that aside from Tozawa & Hulk, MB were essentially worthless. Tozawa replied that he didn't give an answer yet. Yoshino said that his other members weren't even invited to the Hokkaido tour. Kong was a bottom feeder. Kimata wasn't invited because no one in Hokkaido even knew who he was. Still, even though the team had no challenger qualifications, his team ducked no one. They could have their title shot at CHAMPION GATE. W1i left after this. Tanisaki called out the Jimmys for a war of words ahead of the main event Twin Gate.
MB continued their attack on Shisa after match two. DK made the save, and helped run them off. He said he wanted Shisa in peak condition for their match. They shared a handshake.
The KoC finals had to go an extra 5 chops, since fans were split after the first 10. Kagetora pulled the upset, beating Tanisaki in his hometown. He advances to the KING OF CHOP Grand Championship later this year.
Susumu asked for an immediate rematch. GM Yagi said he understood how he felt, but the next Twin match was promised to the Windows duo in Hakata. He couldn't just take it from them. However, Yagi said he would consider making it into a 3 way if the fans & the new champions agreed. The fans were into the idea, while Tanisaki basically said he didn't care either way. So, the match was changed to a 3 way tag. Tozawa threw salt all over the place while the fans booed. MB then left. This left the Jimmys to apologize for losing and close out the show.

This sets up the following for CHAMPION GATE. Full cards should be released later on today.

Tomahawk and his brutal chops won me over at King Of Gate, and I liked his and Hulk's tag match against Shingo and Shenlong on Infinity, so I'm pleased to see them win the Twin Gate. God knows Mad Blankey needs a strong third member built up, and Tomahawk could well be that man.

I would imagine Gabe would try to play up the title change as a way to push The Scene. Kind of like: if Larry Dallas could lead MB to winning Twin Gate, he could lead The Scene to United Gate.

I still think the Scene will join Mad Blankey. Scott Reed could actually be quite the asset to them in Japan with Uhaa's absence.
I thought we may see another CIMA Royale at Champion Gate. Perhaps they will do a whole roster one at some point to determine the challenger for World.

Since there's still no word on the line up for World, I decided to book it myself. I wonder if the actual card will turn out anything like this.
1) Super Shisa vs Kotoka 2) BxB Hulk & Fake Tanisaki vs Ricochet & Eita Kobayashi 3) Don Fujii, Stalker Ichikawa & Gamma vs Cyber Kong, Kzy & Mondai Ryu 4) Open The Brave Gate: Dragon Kid vs Rich Swann 5) Open The Twin Gate: K-ness & Arai vs Maraha Isappa 6) Masaaki Mochizuki vs Akira Tozawa 7) Open The Triangle Gate: Naruki Doi, PAC & Masato Yoshino vs Jimmy Kanda, Jimmy Susumu & Jimmy Kagetora vs Shingo, Tominaga & Super Shenlong III 8) Open The Dream Gate: CIMA vs YAMATO

Interesting idea. Hate to nitpick though... - Shisa and Kotoka are in the same unit now. - I'm assuming you're going with Windows claiming Twin Gate tomorrow. - There's no set timetable for Kobayashi's return from Mexico, though I suspect it'll be beyond World. - Most are quite certain that, unless something happens, Tozawa will be the one challenging for Dream Gate at World.

6/16/2012 Fukuoka, Hakata Star Lanes ~ CHAMPION GATE in Hakata 0. Super Shenlong III{W}, Chihiro Tominaga (5:55 Modified Pinfall) K-ness, Kotoka{L} 1. WORLD-1 International vs. Jimmys: Jimmy Susumu{W}, Jimmy Kagetora (14:00 Mugen) Ricochet, Rich Swann{L} 2. Extreme Comedy Match: Don Fujii (0:10 Nodowa Otoshi) Hollywood Stalker Ichikawa 2b. Don Fujii (0:12 Blocked La Magistral) Hollywood Stalker Ichikawa 2c. Don Fujii (3:58 Failed Ina Bauer German -> Pinfall) Hollywood Stalker Ichikawa 3. MAD BLANKEY vs. -akatsuki-: YAMATO, Shingo Takagi (12:14 MB Interference -> DQ) BxB Hulk, Naoki Tanisaki{L} 4. Dream Gate Final Preliminary Skirmish: CIMA{W}, Masaaki Mochizuki, Gamma (14:04 Jorge Clutch) Genki Horiguchi H.A.Gee.Mee!!, Ryo "Jimmy" Saito{L}, Jimmy Kanda 5. Open the Brave Gate: Dragon Kid (17:04 Bible) Super Shisa *DK succeeds in his 1st Defense 6. Open the Triangle Gate: Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino{W}, PAC (18:44 Sol Naciente) Akira Tozawa, Mondai Ryu, Cyber Kong{L} W1i succeed in their 2nd Defense
W1i opened the show. Yoshino halfheartedly apologized for having to subject Hakata to a Mondai Ryu match. Then they talked about this weeks issue of Shukan Pro Wrestling, which has a big picture of the kissing scene from Korakuen. Hakata tried to get them to kiss again, but they went right to the match.
MB came out after the opener. Tanisaki went after Kagetora with chops. They argued over the Triangle Gate match, Mondai Ryu said he had no intention of delivering a good match, and would bathe it in salt. After yet another intrusion on match three, Tozawa said it was just an example of what to expect later.
CIMA & Horiguchi traded their final promises of victory for their Dream Gate match tomorrow.
W1i celebrated their win, while MB continued to loiter about the ring. Doi thanked Mondai Ryu for his work today, and told him to get the hell out of there. They finished celebrating by making jokes about Doi showing off his ass again......

6/17/2012 Fukuoka, Hakata Star Lanes ~ CHAMPION GATE in Hakata 1. MAD BLANKEY vs. -akatsuki-: YAMATO, Shingo Takagi, Chihiro Tominaga{W} (12:21 Flying Cross Armbreaker) Akira Tozawa, Cyber Kong{L}, Kzy 2. Mondai Ryu (4:13 School Boy) Rich Swann 3. Windows vs. Jimmys: Ryo "Jimmy" Saito{W}, Jimmy Kanda (9:56 Double Cross) Super Shisa, Kotoka{L} 4. WORLD-1 International vs. Team Veteran Returns 4v4 Clash: Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino, PAC, Ricochet{W} (21:34 630) Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii, Dragon Kid{L}, Gamma 5. Open the Twin Gate 3 Way Match: Jimmy Susumu, Jimmy Kagetora vs. BxB Hulk, Naoki Tanisaki vs. K-ness, Kenichiro Arai -Tanisaki (18:12 Night Ride) K-ness -Kagetora (23:53 Kagenui) Tanisaki *MB fail in their 1st Defense, the Jimmys become the 21st Champions 6. Open the Dream Gate: CIMA (23:27 Meteora) Genki Horiguchi H.A.Gee.Mee!! *CIMA succeeds in his 4th Defense
CIMA & Horiguchi had their contract signing for the main event. Horiguchi admitted he would need the support from everyone in Hakata to aid his win. CIMA said that his entire 15 year story would be on display.
A Larry Dallas distraction directly lead to Mondai Ryu cradling Swann for the win.
Ricochet asked for a Brave Gate rematch. Yoshino translated the request to DK, who gladly accepted.
CIMA gave a speech talking about the 15 year history between himself and Horiguchi. He talked about the one year age difference, their times in Mexico, and growing up together. Horiguchi returned the gratitude, and they shared a hug.
This brought out MAD BLANKEY. Mondai Ryu chastised them for holding a sham title match, since he was the rightful #1 contender. CIMA basically blew him off. He asked Tozawa & Hulk to stay, but told them to get rid of their worthless teammates. Then he called out Doi, Yoshino, Takagi, & YAMATO. He told Doi, Yoshino, & YAMATO that although they held the Dream in the past, CIMA was now the champion. He praised Hulk for his kicks. He told Tozawa that he was once exceptionally bad, but then he went to America and gained much experience. He recalled being chokes out by YAMATO several years ago. He praised Takagi for his lariats & his karaoke(...). He praised Doi for his record setting Dream Gate reign, and called the Muscular Bomb a car accident level hold. Finally, he recalled Yoshinos' title reign from 2010 & 2011. He said these 6 would be in the next CIMA Royale, with the winner getting their title shot at Kobe World.
Saito was still hanging around. Stimulated by his unit regaining the Twin Gate and the hot Dream Gate fighting, he challenged Yoshino for the Triangle Gate. The Jimmys team will be Saito, Kanda, & Horiguchi. Yoshino accepted, of course.
CIMA closed out the show with the standard celebratory speech of gratitude.
